Hello friend, my name is Abigail.
I’m so glad you’re here. Let me share a bit about who I am, where I’ve come from, and why I created The Healing Marathon.
Growing up with an alcoholic father meant living in my own war zone, filled with unpredictability, anxiety, and fear. Despite those challenging beginnings, I’ve discovered that my adult life doesn’t have to remain a battlefield. Healing is possible—it’s peaceful, transformative, and deeply rewarding.
In 2020, after carrying years of trauma, I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD. This diagnosis became both a relief and a turning point, sparking my “healing marathon”—a committed journey toward mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness. Spiritually, this meant getting completely honest and real with Jesus.
On July 4, 2022, I experienced a miraculous “touch the hem of His cloak” moment (Mark 5:27-29). Overnight, God freed me from chronic anxiety and irritability. It felt as though Jesus had personally guided me into freedom. This profound experience inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health at Colorado Christian University—a path I never expected as a Doctor of Audiology and established business owner. But God had bigger plans.
Today, my passion lies in guiding others toward emotional freedom through Jesus, utilizing clinical tools like Brainspotting and other trauma modalities, which have played a pivotal role in my healing. I balance life as a nurturing mom, devoted wife, business owner, counselor, and aspiring author.
This blog is deeply personal, dedicated to my younger self who survived chaos, my present self committed to continuous healing, and every one of you navigating your trauma journeys. You’re never alone on this path. Nobody runs this healing marathon alone.
Join me. You’re seen, valued, and your healing matters deeply to God—and to me.
With hope and love,
Abigail
